1,2 THESSALONIANS

First and Second Thessalonians are letters written by the apostle Paul to a young church in Thessalonica. These believers had turned from idols to follow Christ and were faithfully serving Him despite strong opposition and persecution.

In 1 Thessalonians, Paul encourages them to remain strong in faith, live holy lives, love one another, and continue sharing the gospel. He also answers questions about Christians who had died and assures them that believers—both living and deceased—will be united with Christ when He returns.

 

In 2 Thessalonians, Paul corrects confusion about the “day of the Lord.” He explains that Christ had not yet returned, warns against deception and lawlessness, and urges believers to remain steadfast, prayerful, and productive while they wait.

Together, the two books teach Christians how to live faithfully and hopefully until Jesus returns. Their central message is:

Stand firm, live holy lives, encourage one another, and remain ready for Christ’s return.
